First session
What happens at your first session
Nothing here is a test. This is the order of the hour, so there are no surprises.
- 01
Step 1: A reply and a time
We answer your message by email or phone and offer a few times. You will get the address and parking details, or the video link, ahead of the session. Any forms are on the practice's own portal, to fill in when it suits you.
- 02
Step 2: The first ten minutes
Dr. Gaston explains who can see your records and the few times the law requires him to share them, answers questions about fees and asks whether you are comfortable.
- 03
Step 3: The conversation
You say what you want from the time and what you would like him to know. He listens, asks questions and may offer a first way of looking at it. You do not have to say everything at once.
- 04
Step 4: How it ends
Near the end you decide together whether to meet again, how often and whether in the office or by video. You never have to decide in the room.
What this is, and what it is not
Three things worth knowing before you come.
It is a conversation
A first session is a chance to speak and be heard, and to see whether the room and the person suit you.
It is not a diagnosis visit
You will not be given a label or a plan in the first hour. If a diagnosis is ever needed, for an insurance claim for example, Dr. Gaston will talk it through with you first.
It is not a commitment
You can leave without booking another session. Whether to continue is your choice.
